The aquamarine blue of the sea, the pure blue of the sky, which is tinged with red at dawn when the sun greets our cost, the green of the Mediterranean scrub, the red of the earth and the thousands of bright colours of the flowers that bloom to new life in spring: those are the kaleidoscopic colours that paint our canvas. The Marenea Suite Hotel is a perfect starting point for those of you who wish to explore this territory in its lesser-known sides and corners by the most ecological, relaxing and healthy means of transport: the bicycle. The hotel offers the possibility of hiring non-professional bicycles, space and equipment for washing them, a bike deposit, maintenance and small repair facilities, an outside service with a van suitable for bike transport in case of emergency and charging stations for electric bikes. In addition, for cyclists who choose the Marenea Suite Hotel for their stay, we have provided specific services to make their cycling holiday perfect and unforgettable, such as an in-house laundry service specifically for cyclists’ clothing, sports menus and snacks available at the restaurant and bars, and an in-house spa in the pajara area for decontracting massages after training and bike rides.

Stage 44: Vignacastrisi to Tricase

Southern Via Francigena

In a nutshell:

The Via Francigena is the ancient pilgrims’ route, some 3200 km long, that has united Europe and its peoples for hundreds of years. The penultimate stage of the Via Francigena, which goes from Vignacastrisi to Tricase, passes right next to the Marenea Suite Hotel and offers to those who walk or cycle its approximately 14 kilometres a varied and incredibly fascinating scenery, ranging from a a flowery countryside to eucalyptus groves, from pines and oaks to rural churches, crypts and watchtowers. For the adventurous who wish to extend their path, another wonder of this land awaits them: the famous Vallona oak, located along the road from Tricase to the sea. Its estimated age is approximately 700 years, and it is surely worth a visit.

From Poggiardo to Ortelle

A route that mainly develops in the hinterland and allows you to pass through delightful small towns such as Poggiardo, Vaste, Minervino, Giuggianello, Cerfignano, Santa Cesarea Terme, Ortelle. This unique route offers the opportunity to admire archaeological and natural areas of notable importance such as dolmens and menhirs, including the famous Li scusi dolmen and Monticelli menhir. The route winds its way through olive groves and woods offering its travelers a rollercoaster of intense and beautiful emotions until you catch a glimpse of the marvellous blue of the Adriatic Sea from above and then descends to the splendid town of Santa Cesarea.

Terramare Path

In a nutshell:

The Terramare twists and turns through a wonderful protected area, a veritable regional park, established just over 10 years ago: we are talking about the Costa Otranto – Santa Maria di Leuca and Bosco di Tricase Regional Nature Park. The route is almost entirely flat – the difference in height is 100 metres – and shows its true colors when covered in slow mode. At Cerfignano the route proceeds along the Via Appia Calabro Salentina, a road from the Roman era with paved sections that leads to Torre Minervino in Santa Cesarea. Here the path opens out towards the sea, offering breathtaking views.

Arriving at The Spa

Please arrive at The Spa 15 minutes prior to your scheduled treatment and enjoy the calm and serenity of The Spa atmosphere. Arriving late makes it necessary to curtail the time for your treatment.
Mobile Phones

Kindly refrain from using your mobile phone in The Spa premises. Please keep your mobile phone on silent mode at all times.
Valuables

We provide a secure place for your personal items inside The Spa complex. However, we do not accept liability for loss or damage. We recommend valuable items are stored inside the safe located in your hotel room/suite.
Health Matters

Please communicate health conditions such as high blood pressure and allergies, as well as pregnancy or any health-related concerns you may have when making your appointment. We do not recommend the consumption of alcohol before or directly after spa treatments or before using any facilities in the Spa and Health Club.
Children

The minimum age for entry to The Spa, The Health Club and the hydrothermal facilities is 16 years of age. Children under the age of 16 may use the hotel pool if they are accompanied by a parent/adult.
Safety

The max depth of the pool is 1.60 m. There is no lifeguard at the pool. Children may only use the pool if accompanied by an adult or parent/guardian.
Smoking

Kindly note that you are not allowed to smoke in The Spa, The Health Club or sauna area.
